WHO KILLED CHARLES ANSONG? A.K.A (CATHETER) HIS SOUL SEEKS FOR THE ANSWERS AND JUSTICE.
****************************
And darkness was brought to all souls who have lived, worked and walked the four walls of Pantang and have known this energetic athlete in Charles Ansong.
Is His tragic death a case of negligence, carelessness, over confidence or anger ? His Soul seeks Justice and answers to have a Peaceful Rest.
Charles Ansong, popularly known on NTC_Pantang campus and close pals as CATHETER got injured in a football match as part of their school's SRC Week celebration on the 19th of May, 2017. Something which all those who were involved perceived to be a minor injury turned out to be the reality of His untold demise as His Soul seeks Justice for a peaceful rest.
He stayed on the pitch to play and even poked in a goal which he is known to do best until the game went on recess.
When the 2nd half was about to commence he complained of pains after the injury he sustained during the 1st half and so could not carry on playing and he left the field of play to get some First aid treatment.
He was taken to the medical OPD of Pantang Hospital for medical attention as a caution, where he was treated and discharged.
Later in the evening of same fateful day, he complained that the pain has resurfaced and that he could not bear it this time because it was so intense.
He was rushed to the Pentecost Hospital at Madina Formerly known as Alpha Medical Centre which was the nearest medical facility. He was put on treatment and monitored till the next day. Later on in the day he was reviewed by doctors on duty who were contemplating referring him for further management in a well equipped hospital but requested for a scan to be taken first.
The scan report proved that there were few blood clots at the lower abdomen without an organ damage but his post mortem proves multiple organ damage, piercings and cuts.
Upon review of the scan report, two of the doctors suggested putting him on anticoagulant to help dissolve the clots of blood to save the situation. Another was of the view that if the pain continues then surgery has to be performed.
Relatives and friends who were around were informed of the development and were tasked to raise an amount of Ghc2,000.00 for the surgery to be done to save the tender life of the young guy.
Charles was booked for the surgery on 21st May, 2017, at 10am in an early Sunday morning. The surgery delayed for whatever reason no one knows, but I'm sure your guess will be as good as mine, and it could be due to the numerous surgeries done on that day, which I believe proper decontamination of instruments has to be done to prevent infections.
The doctor turned up around 7pm and immediately passed an NG tube and catheter without even allowing Charles to be shaved which is the right thing to be done. An already in pain Charles felt uncomfortable and removed the NG tube which angered the doctor for him to say he will not perform the surgery anymore.
Relatives and friends around have to plead on Charles's behalf for the surgery to be performed. After long pleas, the Doctor told the family and relatives of Charles that "I will do it when I feel okay "
After about 40mins, he called for Charles to be brought to the theater for the surgery to be performed and at this point everyone felt relieved because their Son and friend will at least be relieved of the pains he is going through.
The Surgery lasted quite longer than expected but was later wheeled out of the theatre to the recovery ward.
Few minutes later after him being sent to the recovery ward, he was rushed back to the theater with no apparent reason given as both the theatre nurses ( 2 ) and the Doctor were not ready to explain anything to anyone not even the Vice Principal of Charles's College, the reason of him being taken back to the theatre leaving family members, relatives and school mates in limbo.
To be continued......
